01/19/2010 - Carson, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chivas USA renewed loan deals for Jesus Padilla, Maicon Santos and Yamith Cuesta on Tuesday.

The trio joined Chivas USA in August and each appeared in the remainder of the team's regular season and playoff matches.

"We're excited to bring back Jesus, Maicon, and Yamith for the 2010 season," said Chivas USA Vice President of Soccer Operations Stephen Hamilton. "They played an important part for us in the second half of last year, and we feel there's a lot that they can give to us on the field."

Padilla, 22, is a versatile attacking player who is on loan from Chivas de Guadalajara, where he spent eight years after joining the club at age 14 out of San Jose, Calif. Padilla had one goal for Chivas USA in 2009.

Santos, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, had a goal and an assist in the regular season, and also scored the team's first goal in a 2-2 playoff match against the Los Angeles Galaxy.

Cuesta, a 20-year-old defender with experience on the Colombian U-20 national team, helped solidify the Red-and-White's backline, as the team allowed just 11 goals in the 11 matches he played with the team between the regular season and playoffs.

Chivas USA opens preseason camp on Jan. 26.

Huskers' Lucky hospitalized for undisclosed reason

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska running back Marlon Lucky was hospitalized Monday for undisclosed reasons after Lincoln police responded to a call at his residence.

The Nebraska athletic department said in a release Monday that Lucky was admitted Sunday night.

MySportsbook.com has the Cornhuskers listed at +2500 to win the BCS National Championship odds.

A nursing supervisor at the hospital said all questions about Lucky were being referred to the athletic department. The athletic department said there would be no further comment from the department or Lucky's family.

A Lincoln Police spokesman said officers responded to a call at Lucky's residence 11:30 p.m. Sunday. The spokesman said he didn't know Lucky's condition at the time he was taken to the hospital.

Lucky, from North Hollywood, Calif., started six games last season as a sophomore and was the team's second-leading rusher, with 728 yards and six touchdowns. He also caught 32 passes for 383 yards. He averaged 19.1 yards on eight kickoff returns.

Stanley Cup betting

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.

The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.

MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.

Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
