Little-known Canadian Sharon Fichman pasted Cirstea in 6-2, 6-0 fashion in 63 minutes on the red clay at The Fairmont Acapulco Princess.

American star Venus Williams beat Italian Flavia Pennetta in last year's Acapulco finale. The former world No. 1 Williams, this week's top seed, is fresh off her title in Dubai last week.

The 2010 Acapulco winner will pocket $37,000.
