The 35-year-old Calero posted a 2-2 record with a career-low 1.95 earned run average in 67 relief appearances for Florida last season. He struck out 69 batters in 60 innings of work.

For his career, he is 14-12 with seven saves and a 3.24 ERA in 313 games -- one start -- with St. Louis, Oakland and the Marlins.

The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
